Job Purpose 

As our Social Media Manager, you will be responsible for building our brand fame and getting our name in lights through social media and PR activity. You will work closely with colleagues across the business as well as to promote DeliveryApp to prospective customers and other key influencers. 

Based within the rapidly growing Marketing Team in Manchester, you will produce and deliver a social media plan that reflects and drives the growth of our business. As our Social Media Manager you will plan and create innovative content that reflects internal and external news, current trends and engage our target audiences appropriately. This will include written, photographic and video content. 

To succeed in this role, you’ll be comfortable managing paid and organic campaigns across a variety of channels including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and TikTok. You will also keep up to date with new trends, tools and channels to ensure that DeliveryApp drives engagement and communicates in the most user-friendly and appropriate way. This role will be responsible for managing and monitoring and evaluating social media channels, with the ability to answer questions and handle comments in an appropriate manner. 

You will also have some PR experience building, growing and championing brands.

Location/Travel: Our offices are in Bonded Warehouse, at the heart of Enterprise City in Manchester 

Key internal stakeholder relationships: CEO, Operations Director, Commercial Director, Technical Director, Driver Network Team, Operations Team and Commercial Team 

Key external relationships: External suppliers and agencies 

Budget/Financial responsibility: Yes, budget in accordance with activity 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Contribute to the development of the PR and social media strategy’s to support business growth, grow followers and increase engagement 
  • Copywriting for organic and paid social channels 
  • Foster good relationships with tech and logistics press 
  • Press release writing to promote our news to key audiences and publications 
  • Create and update the monthly social calendar with topical and industry leading content 
  • Manage day-to-day posting, editing and optimisation of paid and organic content on multiple social media platforms 
  • Identify reactive opportunities for posts based on news and industry updates 
  • Work with the wider team to develop new social initiatives to drive results e.g. partnerships and influencer content. 
  • Creation and editing of video-based content to drive awareness and reach 
  • Monitoring and developing social listening reports within social media spaces 
  • Be able to work effectively under pressure individually, whilst remaining a strong team player.

Have a clear track record of success – you will have experience of helping to grow a business through innovative organic and paid social media campaigns with demonstrable results. 

Requirements and Skills 

  • At least three year’s experience in a B2B or B2C social role 
  • Proven social media growth results in a B2B environment 
  • Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise and work across multiple projects 
  • Proficient in the use of Photoshop, Illustrator and video editing software 
  • Ability to write engaging and influential copy that is audience appropriate 
  • Paid social media experience 
  • An understand and thirst for social media channels 
  • Excellent reporting and analytical understanding 
  • Strong video editing and design skills  
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
