DeliveryApp is the trading name of Deliver E Hub Ltd (company registered number 1054751). The legal jurisdiction of this site is England and Wales. Deliver E Hub operates the DeliveryApp.com website and the DeliveryApp mobile application (“the Services”).

This policy applies to any users of DeliveryApp’s Services anywhere in the world, including any users of DeliveryApp’s apps, websites, features or other services. We will not use or share your data with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy. We use your personal data for providing and improving the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of data in accordance with this policy. Unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy, terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions.

Our Privacy and Cookie Policies are written in compliance with and subject to the laws of England and Wales only.

Where this policy refers to “we”, “our” or “us” below, unless it mentions otherwise, it’s referring to the particular company that is the registered Data Controller of your personal information, i.e. in this instance DeliveryApp. A “Data Controller” is an organisation that decides why and how personal information is processed.

Purpose of the data processing

We collect data from our Drivers and Customers, when they sign up to use our Services and throughout the provision of those Services. We also collect personal data from different categories of people, including; previous and prospective Drivers and Customers, other individuals and businesses who may be connected with them, people who visit our offices and other people who may interact with us as part of our operations.

The purpose of collecting such data is to ensure and enhance the provision of the Services, to our Drivers and Customers.

The lawful bases for processing

As part of obtaining data in providing the Services to our Drivers and Customers, under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are;

  • contractual: Where we are required to process personal data in order to perform our contractual obligations;
  • legitimate interests: the processing is necessary for our and/or your legitimate interests;
  • consent: Where you have given us your expressed consent to process your personal data. Consent can be withdrawn at any point in accordance with your rights.

Types of personal data we obtain and the data source

We collect data from you in the following ways:

This is information about you that you give to us by, for example:

  • Visiting our Website (Deliveryapp.com);
  • Using our Web or mobile applications (including but not limited to; online chat, chatbots, portals etc);
  • Viewing or following our channels on any social media platforms;
  • Corresponding with us by phone, email or otherwise.

This data is provided by you voluntarily. This includes information provided at the time of registering to use our site and/or App, subscribing to the Services we provide through our channels, requesting information, material or further services, managing your personal details (including accessing documentation and engaging in correspondence with us by phone, email or otherwise).

If you complete any surveys that we request you complete for marketing and/or research purposes, we will collect information in such circumstances as well.

DeliveryApp collects personal data from both Drivers and Customers when they sign up to use our Services and throughout the provision of those Services. We also collect personal data from different categories of people, including; previous and prospective Drivers and Customers, other individuals and businesses who may be connected with them, people who visit our offices and other people who may interact with us.

Any personal data stored within the platform through which our Services are provided must not be copied by any user of our Services in any format and used outside of the Services.

The information you give us will typically include your name, address, email address and phone number(s), your specific enquiry details and may include records of any correspondence and responses to referrals and/or marketing campaigns. Further details of the data captured from Drivers and Customers are outlined below.

Driver personal data collected

We obtain the following personal data from Drivers (which includes but is not limited to);

  • Personal Driver information including; full name, email address, telephone number;
  • Documents pertaining to proof of identity including; the front and back of the Drivers’ driving licence (which includes date of birth, that then produces a check code; both of which are stored), utility bill and/or bank statement;
  • Hire and Reward vehicle insurance and/or Goods in Transit cover;
  • Evidence of the right to work in the United Kingdom. For UK residents this includes a photograph of the Driver British Passport and/or birth certificate. For non-UK residents this includes the Drivers share code and/or settlement letter, and/or or residents permit;
  • Drivers may produce details of their public liability insurance;
  • Drivers may produce additional documentation relating to specific Customer requirements, including but not limited to; Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificates;
  • Vehicle information including; registration plate, photographs of Driver vehicles from all angles and V5C log book;
  • In order to receive remuneration, Drivers set up their own payment account on a third party platform such as Stripe. This process is not managed by DeliveryApp. Driver data provided by Drivers to such a platform is not shared with DeliveryApp; We recommend you also review the Privacy Policy of any third party payment processing affiliate we may refer you to.
  • Where Drivers are a registered business, they may also provide their VAT and registered Companies House number.

In relation to Fleet Customers, it is presumed that the person providing the data on behalf of the fleet has obtained the necessary permissions/consent from their Drivers to share information on their behalf. It is also the Fleet Customers’ responsibility to ensure they and their Drivers comply with the relevant data protection rules and regulations which apply to them.

We may use third parties to complete digital identity verification checks in relation to users of our services. Identity checks are critical in preventing fraud and ensuring compliance with anti-money laundering regulations.  This process will involve data being shared relating to the person(s) being verified, this includes but is not limited to; name, address, date of birth, vehicle registration, passport and driver licence number.

Customer personal data collected

We obtain the following personal data from Customers (individuals and businesses), which includes but is not limited to;

  • Customer information including; full name, address, telephone number, company name (optional), email address;
  • Pick-up details for each Job Request, including; sender name, contact telephone number, pick-up address, what3words (optional), pick-up date and time, duration of hire (if applicable), whether they need assistance with loading/unloading item;
  • Drop-off details for each Job Request, including; recipient name, contact telephone number, drop-off address, what3words (optional), drop-off date and time;
  • Drop-off items including; package size, weight and quantity and whether they need help/two man assistance with loading/unloading items, cost of goods;

We shall presume that you have obtained the necessary consent from any third party who may be referred to within any Job Request.

Usage and other data

Customer and Driver personal data will be shared between the parties arranging Services using the platform in order for the Services to be facilitated.

In the event of a complaint from a Customer, Drivers grant us permission to share their insurance details, where required, to the Customer.

We may also process information about Customers’ business/financial affairs, their relationship with DeliveryApp, the goods or services they/their company provide and/or require and their use of our website (including login information to online systems we use).

We may give you the opportunity to tell your friends about features or offers about our Services. If you take advantage of our ‘Send to a Friend’ option, we ask you for your friend’s and your first name and e-mail addresses to send the information to them that you requested. We don’t keep or use your friend’s e-mail address for any other purpose.

We may ask users of our Services to complete reviews, surveys and opinion polls, including with third party agents such as Trustpilot, to provide feedback on services, activities, attitudes and interests. These surveys help us understand the needs of our Drivers and Customers and to improve our Services. We may then publicise any such reviews, surveys and opinion polls. Third Party Agents usually specify that content created by our customers also belongs to them and is available for use for life. Should you complete such a review and not wish for your review to be used and/or saved indefinitely, then you should notify us immediately by email, which is noted at the foot of this document.

Marketing

We may use your personal data to contact you with email or SMS newsletters, marketing or promotional materials and other information that may be of interest to you. Unless you opt out of receiving any, or all, of these communications from us by emailing us using the information noted at the foot of this document, which you can do so at any time.

Service Providers

We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our Services, to perform related services or to assist us in analysing how our Services are used. These third parties may have access to your personal data only to perform these tasks on our behalf as a data processor and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose. Such third parties may include, but are not limited to; HubSpot, Google (including but not limited to; Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics etc), Microsoft, Amazon Web Services (AWS), payment services such as Stripe, accounting software (e.g. Xero) and identity verification services.

We may also partner with other third party platforms to facilitate our Services. This will involve personal data being shared between the parties in order for the Services to be provided. Parties have access to your personal data only to perform these tasks on our behalf as a data processor and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose. For example; Shopify.

How we collect or obtain your personal data

We may obtain personal data from you directly, from our drivers and customers, from people and organisations involved in matters we act for, from public sources and from others, such as other Drivers and Customers who may refer you to us, regulators, suppliers and professional bodies.

The way we receive information from you varies, which includes, but is not limited to; filling in forms on our website, by corresponding with us by phone, e-mail or otherwise. It includes information you provide when you register to use our site, subscribe to our Services and when you report a problem with our site. The information you give us may include your name, address, e-mail address and phone number and company financial Information (if applicable) we collect about you.

With regard to each of your visits to our website, we will automatically collect the following information, in accordance with our Cookies Policy

  • Technical information, including the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet, your login information, browser type and version, time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform;
  • Information about your visit, including [the full Uniform Resource Locators (URL), clickstream to, through and from our site (including date and time), page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), methods used to browse away from the page, and any phone number used to call our customer service number.

Where you provide us with information directly, it is your responsibility to ensure that all such information is materially complete and not misleading. You may also provide us with personal data about other people. Please ensure you provide them with a copy of this policy, where appropriate to do so. If any information changes, please let us know so that we can keep it updated on our systems.

Calls to/from our UK office will be recorded.

Information collected by automated means

We may use cookies, web beacons/pixel tags, log files and other technologies to collect certain information about users of our Services, use of our online services and interactions with our emails and online advertisements. For example, through these means, we may collect your GPS location, browser type and operating system, viewed webpages, links that are clicked, IP address, sites visited before coming to our website, emails we send that you open, forward, or click through to our website.
